Michigan Welcome Reception
Our first event after checking in was the Michigan Welcome Reception hosted by Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville and House Speaker Jase Bolger. The event was held at Jackson's Bistro Bar & Sushi which was a short walk from the Embassy Suites.It was a beautiful night in Tampa...and probably the only one we will see on this trip. I had a nice conversation with Randy Richardville. His mother was on our flight. She commented how much she liked my Michigan Republican shirt. As did Governor Snyder when I briefly said hello to him. (yes...I know what you are thinking: Name Dropper!)
One of the interesting sights at the reception was this:
Lurking outside of the venue was ABC News Investigative reporter Brian Ross. They were stationed right outside the entrance. Not sure what he was looking for...or who, but eventually he and his crew wandered off.
