Governor Snyder Welcome Reception

The Florida Aquarium

Governor Rick Snyder hosted a welcome reception today at The Florida Aquarium.  It is a fantastic facility and I highly recommend it to anyone who travels to Tampa.  Great for kids.

It is clear to me that this moment will be the highlight of Cindy's trip:

She loves Pengiuns and when they brought out these two...she wanted to follow them around the entire time :)

She did get a chance to meet Governor Snyder and everyone got a picture with him.

The Governor used the opportunity to continue his campaign of "Reinventing Michigan".  One of the unique uses was this display:

At several places throughout the aquarium you would find these "fog walls" for lack of a better term.  They projected the Reinventing Michigan logo on each.  Nice touch...

One of the items that was very popular was the Sting Ray tank.  You were welcome to stick your hand in the water and pet them.  It brought back memories of my trips to Grand Cayman Island and Sting Ray City.  An area where we could pick them up out of the water...and they were the size of man hole covers!
