Security??
Everything was going smoothly. Our plane landed 15 minutes early. The weather was ok. We found our shuttle...and then ran into the "security zone". We sat for 15 minutes watching this fork lift place a concrete barrier across our path...and then remove it. Not sure what that was all about.
I also want to note that security is EVERYWHERE. Local, state, secret service, national guard, you name it. My friend Sharon Lollio and I agreed that it almost seems like overkill. At one point tonight we watched a local police officer with his flashlight searching the bushes along the road next to our hotel. And these bushes could not have been more than 12 inches high. I guess that is the times we live in...
